The Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a welcoming homelike environment for families, just steps away from their child in the hospital. Our Family Room is a comfortable living room fully equipped with TV and radio, a bookshelf, sofas and chairs, a coffee machine and a side table with a desktop computer and free WiFi. Right behind the TV there’s an adjacent dining/kitchen area with a refrigerator, microwave, mini oven, cupboards, dining table with 5 chairs and right next to it a small laundry room. There is also a game and play area which is an excellent recreational area for kids to play and do arts and crafts with our volunteers. When entering this area through the living room, you reach the game area for older kids to enjoy games like Wii and PSP and keep in touch with their friends on the computer. Right next to it you’ll find a nice space with toys for babies, toddlers and kids including a desk with chairs for crafting projects. The Family Room is opened daily between 8 AM and 8 PM. Furthermore the Family Room offers accommodation for up to six parents, each room with its own bathroom.

What is our relationship with McDonald’s?

We are a non-profit foundation and Arcos Dorados, the operator of our local McDonald’s restaurants, is an important corporate donor. McDonald’s involvement extends beyond monetary support:

  • McDonald’s employees are dedicated volunteers and participate in local board
  • RMHC Donation Boxes hosted in all restaurants is a fixed source of RMHC income
  • McDonald’s conducts an annual fundraiser in November called “Gran Dia”. Part of the proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities Curaçao Foundation

Although Arcos Dorados Curaçao is an important corporate donor, no company can solely fund our RMHC programs and our projected growth. We need the support of the entire community and greatly value any support contributed to RMHC Curaçao Foundation, whether it’s through cash donations, time or fundraising efforts.
