The sudden death of Valery’s daughter on September 8, 2020, changed her life forever. Jaydely Hooi was only 12 years old when she started facing health problems and passed away after a very short period.
“When my daughter was hospitalized, I got in touch with the wonderful team of Ronald McDonald House. The treatment was so warm and I totally felt at home. Even though I was facing a very difficult period, at the Ronald McDonald House I felt at peace, I could talk with the volunteers and with other parents who were also facing a difficult situation. At the Ronald McDonald House I could enjoy a cup of coffee, have a nice sandwich and just unburden myself. Everything was perfectly organized and I am so thankful for all the support I received. God is guiding me through this process and I know that my daughter touched so many hearts. Her classmates still approach me. I pray with them and together we remember the beautiful memories we created with her.”
