The Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a welcoming homelike environment for families, just steps away from their child in the hospital. Our Family Room is a comfortable and very modern spacious living room fully equipped with TV, sofas and chairs where families can just sit back and relax or enjoy a meal together. There is also free WiFi throughout in case parents need to get some work done or connect back home with the rest of the family. The kitchen area is well equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and oven, cupboards, dining table with ample seating for the whole family. The family room also has a multi functional game and play area with a large screen and modern electronic games . The play area has a sensory corner that is very relaxing for our kids and families that need this. It is also equipped with toys for kids to play and materials for kids of all ages to do arts and crafts with our volunteers. The Family Room is opened daily between 8 AM and 8 PM. Furthermore the Family Room offers bedroom accommodation for up to six parents, each room with its own bathroom.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room is operated by the RMHC Curaçao Foundation staff and volunteers. The staff consists of a family room manager that coordinates the Family Room in its entire aspect, including support with events, sponsoring and donations. The manager also guides a pool of volunteers that provide hospitality to families in the space during operating hours.
Any family with a child receiving treatment, whether hospitalized patients or outpatients, is eligible to use the Ronald McDonald Family Room facilities. All parents and immediate family members that are registered with us are welcome to use our facilities during opening hours. The play area is accessible for the kids under supervision of staff or parents.
Our admissions policy is aligned with admission guidelines and visitation hours of the pediatric department of our partnering hospital, the Curacao Medical Center.
Yes. Accommodation in one of our bedrooms is completely free of charge thanks to our sponsors and supporters. The bedroom is eligible for use by one parent and for the duration of the child’s stay, depending on availability and pediatric department approval. We have 3 bedrooms available, each with 2 beds, separate dresser and closet space. Registration to stay in one of our rooms will be can be done daily between 8 AM and 8 PM. There is a Family Room Manager present to assist you in this as well as our group of volunteers. Our Family Room house rules apply in addition to Curacao Medical Center house rules.

Although Arcos Dorados Curaçao is an important corporate donor, no company can solely fund our RMHC programs and our projected growth.
