In July 2020 Maria gave birth to a premature baby. She received the opportunity to stay at the Ronald McDonald House to stay close to her child.

“Geraldine was the first person who welcomed me. The volunteers were very considerate since day one. They were very pending and they even made me breakfast. I will never forget that the staff of Ronald McDonald made it possible for me to stay there and have my own room. I had everything for myself. The support system was incredible and fortunately little Miya went to a very positive development. She had to stay in an incubator for some time, but now I can proudly say I have a beautiful and healthy baby. I always say that you never understand a situation until you experience it. Ronald McDonald was my support system, my backbone and I will always, always be thankful!”
