In July 2020 Maria gave birth to a premature baby. She received the opportunity to stay at the Ronald McDonald House to stay close to her child.

“Geraldine , the RMHC manager, was the first person who welcomed me. The volunteers were very considerate since day one. They were very pending and they even made me breakfast. I will never forget that the staff of Ronald McDonald made it possible for me to stay there and have my own room. I had everything for myself. The support system was incredible and fortunately little Miya went to a very positive development. She had to stay in an incubator for some time, but now I can proudly say I have a beautiful and healthy baby. I always say that you never understand a situation until you experience it. Ronald McDonald was my support system, my backbone and I will always, always be thankful!”
