Since 2011 when Hana received the news that her pregnancy could take a dramatic turn, she left to the Netherlands for a second opinion. Her baby was born there and had to undertake several surgeries in the course of time.

“That was the first time I visited the Ronald McDonald House. I was impressed by the fantastic treatment and immediately I felt at home there. The volunteers were a great support far away from home.” Nowadays her son is 10 years old and is doing great, besides all circumstances. In the mean time, Hana became pregnant of her third child and it was last year during the Covid-19 crisis when they needed to fight for the health of their princess. “Besides all harsh measures because of Covid-19, a volunteer of Ronald McDonald House in Curaçao made it possible for KLM to take us to the Netherlands. My daughter was diagnosed with leukemia and needed to receive her treatments as soon as possible. The Ronald McDonald House did the impossible to make this happen. Words can not even express how thankful I am! My family and I have been through a difficult ride during these past years, but we are thankful for our home in Curaçao, the positive impact of Ronald McDonald House in our lives, all the fabulous people we meet on a daily basis and people who pray for us. We are blessed!”
